As a member of the California Air Resources Board and Chairman of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, Jerry’s hands on experience has prepared him well to confront the tough challenges we face to protect California’s rich natural heritage. Whether it be improving air quality, preserving open space or implementing California’s landmark global warming law, Jerry has already provided leadership.

Jerry supports affordable, comprehensive, universal health coverage for all Californians. Reforming our broken health care system will be one of his top priorities in Sacramento. As a member of the Board of Directors of the San Mateo County Medical Center, Jerry has overseen several technological initiatives that improved care quality and lowered costs in San Mateo County.

In addition to his work on regional and countywide
issues such as healthcare and global warming, Jerry
has always supported local efforts to improve every
resident’s quality of life. Jerry’s endorsements from
11 of 12 mayors in the 19th Assembly District and from
54 out of 60 city councilmembers speak to Jerry’s
tireless advocacy of local initiatives.
Whether he is helping non-profits and local
governments secure funding for important projects,
preserving open spaces for public use, or improving
public health and public safety, Jerry always has the
best interests of local communities in mind.
